How long does Permanent Makeup last? All permanent makeup fades with time, the length of time depends on many factors; such as the area of which is tattooed, the method of which it is tattooed and the clients own body and lifestyle. Generally we expect to see clients back for colour boosts anything from 8 months to 18 months in order to maintain a fresh looking colouring.
-
What will it look like? Will I see what it looks like before, I don't want it too dark?"During the first part of your appointment we discuss in detail your desired outcome. Based on this and a few other factors we can decide together what is the best technique for you. There are many colours we can achieve with permanent makeup from barely there to more bold colourings. Each procedure is completely bespoke and will be designed to make the most of your features. Before commencing the treatment we spend time creating the perfect template, this gives you an idea of the shape, placement and size of the enhancement, once we are happy we then proceed.
-
Does it hurt? The pain level for the procedure is considered mild. A topical anaesthetic can be applied to numb the area. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal and this will subside after a few hours. You may also experience tenderness in more sensitive areas such as eyes and lips.
-
Do I have to come without makeup?I always find it useful to see clients with their makeup as they would usually apply day to day. This helps me understand how natural or glamorous they would like their PMU.
-
How long does it take to heal? The surface skin will appear healed normally 1 week after treatment. During the healing process expect for the colour to appear darker for the first few days then appear considerably lighter for a short period while the skin is healing. We expect to see a true healed colour at around 4 weeks.
-
How long is the appointment? Each appointment length differs depending on the area which has been tattooed. For brows the initial treatment can be up to 2 hours for lips up to 2.5 hours. Touch up appointments are normally half the time of the initial treatment.

Can you have Permanent Makeup done whilst pregnant and/or breast feeding?Unfortunately you cannot.

What is the pre-treatment advice and aftercare?Pre-Treatment Do not consume any alcohol, paracetamol, aspirin, green tea, or similar blood thinning substances in the 48 hours prior to your appointment (Do not discontinue any normal medications without consulting your Doctor). Avoid sun exposure/sun beds for 2 weeks before your scheduled appointment. Do not exercise the day of your appointment. Avoid any chemical peels, use of any Retin A or AHA skincare products 4 weeks prior to your appointment. If you are having a brow treatment it is recommended you wash your hair before your appointment as you will need to keep the area dry for 1 week. Aftercare You will receive an aftercare pack once your treatment has been completed but here are some of the main points. WHILE YOUR SKIN HEALS, BE PREPARED FOR THE COLOUR INTENSITY TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER, SHARPER, BRIGHTER, OR DARKER than what is expected for the final outcome. This is a normal and expected result of the application and healing process. The healing process will take a number of days to complete, depending on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates and your cell turnover rate. The true healed colour of the treatment can take a few weeks to show through the healing layers of skin. Avoid getting the area wet. Do not put makeup directly over the treated area for 10 days. Do not pick the treated area. Avoid swimming, sweating, tanning and saunas for at least 14 days.
